Our assembly is for glorifying God (Romans 15:5+6) and edifying one another (1 Corinthians 14:26) - not for filling our stomachs
This became a problem for the early church at Corinth (1 Corinthians 11:17-22)
They had lost sight of the true purpose of their assembling together
They were even told, "Don't you have houses to eat and drink in?" (1 Corinthians 11:22)
The record of how the Corinthians had done wrong must be in the bible for a reason
We don't want this warning to be lost on us!
